About Koneko

All information on this site is from public sources believed reliable.  All opinions on this site represent judgments at the time of posting, but articles are usually not updated after publication except to correct factual errors.  Some of the opinions have been completely wrong (as you can see) so readers are encouraged to use facts from the site to form their own independent opinions.

Nothing on this site constitutes a recommendation to purchase or sell any security and facts on this site will never be more than a portion of what an investor should use in making any investment decision.

The author of opinions expressed on this site and related parties often have a disclosed position in securities mentioned.  Aside from being a holder of securities, the author has no business relationship with any company mentioned on the site and does not accept any form of compensation related to the content of articles, posts, and comments on the site.

The author (John Sheehy) of articles on this site is not anonymous, but prefers to draw attention to facts about investments rather than himself. If I attach ego to what I write then it could undermine my objectivity.

Corrections to factual errors in articles are welcomed from readers, including any companies mentioned, using sources available at the time of publication.

I have no expectation of starting any paid subscription service. People wonder, "why write for free?" I have found writing a great way to crystallize my analysis. Sometimes I have bought a stock, drafted a writeup, read my own words, and realized it just isn't as compelling as I believed. Sometimes it goes the other way, I read my text and convince myself to buy more. Anticipation of public accountability imposes an extra discipline on my analytical process. Public engagement has also brought a lot of new contacts and access to information that have made me a better investor. So I'm trying substack to see if it's convenient for reader engagement rather than as a prelude to any sort of premium offering.

Koneko (子猫) is Japanese for kitten or literally “child cat”.  It expresses curiosity, energy, and playfulness.  I hope you like it.

Any unauthorized commercial use of the material on this site is expressly forbidden.  Got it …
